Jonathan Federman brings extensive experience in New York State government to Brown & Weinraub, having served in all three branches of State government. Most recently, Jonathan served as Special Counsel to the New York State Senate Majority, where he was responsible for the development and negotiation of legislative and budgetary proposals on a number of top Senate priorities. Previously, Jonathan served as Assistant Counsel to Governor George E. Pataki, and as confidential law clerk to the Hon. Richard C. Wesley at the New York State Court of Appeals.
Jonathan works primarily with the firm’s Energy & Environment clients, developing strategies and crafting reforms to accomplish their goals, providing experienced counsel, and helping them successfully navigate every level of State government.
Jonathan serves as a member of the New York League of Conservation Voters- Capital Region Board of Directors. He was also recognized by City & State in the 2023 Energy & Environment Power 100.
Jonathan is a graduate of Albany Law School and the State University of New York at Binghamton.
