"Plug Power nearlyPlug Power nearly doubled its workforce to 2,449 employees last year as the Latham company races to build factories and hydrogen generation plants around the world.
The fuel cell and hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturer increased its headcount by 585 during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, adding another 1,164 employees by the end of last year. And the company does not expect to slow down any time soon.
The hiring surge comes as Plug Power (Nasdaq: PLUG) plans to spend roughly $1 billion annually for the next several years building factories and expanding its network of hydrogen generation plants from two locations to 13 by the end of 2025. The company also is constructing factories in Bethlehem, the Netherlands, France, Spain and South Korea in addition to the $125 million plant that started production in Henrietta, outside Rochester, late last year."
